Doggie Daycare Finds Success with Help from Tulsa SCORE

Business Grows After Contacting SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business”

Owasso, OK - Chris and Patrick Scholl, owners of All God’s Creatures in Owasso have turned a problem they’ve encountered into a solution.  The Scholl’s recognized a need for a doggie day care in Owasso after doing personal pet sitting in their home for several years.  They had the idea to open a pet daycare and boarding facility.  One year ago they contacted their local SCORE organization for business plan assistance.

Tulsa SCORE assists area entrepreneurs and small business owners with advice on managing their business challenges. SCORE volunteer counselors provide confidential, free face-to-face and email counseling. Last year, Tulsa SCORE provided counseling services to over 500 entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Herman Meyer says, “The Scholl’s came to me with their idea looking for business plan assistance.”  Meyer adds, “The Scholl’s were determined to do the research necessary and put their plan together correctly, in order to succeed.”  The Scholl’s were successful in obtaining the funding they needed in order to open their doors in May, 2006.

All God’s Creatures is a Doggie Daycare and Doggie Hotel.  Scholl says, “So many pet owners work full time, and would like for their pets to socialize during the day.  We have owners that drop off their pets anywhere from just one day a week to every day of the week.”

With rooms that look like miniature cottages, All God’s Creatures also offers a Doggie Hotel for busy owners who travel.  Scholl says their hotel rooms can fill up fast during the holidays and summer months, which is exactly what they were hoping for one year ago when they opened their doors.

Chris Scholl says, “We have been busy and hope to expand soon.  At just under 3,000 sq. ft., we need more room already.”  The Scholl’s are located just off Highway 169 in Owasso, next to Robertson Tire.

Since 1964, SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” has assisted more than 7.5 million aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners through counseling and business workshops. More than 10,500 volunteer business counselors in 389 chapters serve their communities through entrepreneurial education dedicated to the formation, growth and success of small businesses.
